Robert Bielawa Named MSAA Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year

Henri A. Yelle Elementary School AP Earns MSAA 2024 Honor

Robert Bielawa, Dean of Students at the Henri A. Yelle Elementary School in Norton, has been selected as the 2024 Assistant Principal of the Year. Bob has worked in the town of Norton for twentyfive years. He was a classroom teacher from 1998—2014. Early in 2014, he became the Dean of Students at the Henri A. Yelle Elementary School. Bob graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, while receiving his Elementary Licensure from Wheaton College. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Fitchburg State University in 2002 and then obtained his administration license in 2016. Prior to serving as Dean of Students, Bob taught 3rd & 4th grade in Norton.

Bob was nominated by Henry A. Yelle Principal Martin Geoghegan who in his recommendation wrote, “Mr. Bielawa has the skill-set, pedagogical knowledge, personality and experiences to be Assistant Principal of the Year. He knows how to support students, teachers and families. He is an excellent communicator and collaborator with his peers, stakeholders and other administrators.” 

Bob lives in Portsmouth, Rhode Island with his beloved family. He has been married to Ali, a 6th grade teacher in Acushnet, for 22 years. Together they have three children, Jack, 20, Sam, 20, and Kyle, 16.
