West Springfield Middle School AP Earns MSAA 2024 Honor

The Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association is pleased to announce that Mrs. Nicole Manning, Assistant Principal of West Springfield Middle School, has been selected as the 2024 Assistant Principal of the Year. Nicole has served as Assistant Principal at the Middle School for the past six years. 

Nicole graduated from Westfield State College with a Bachelor of Arts in History, earned a Post Baccalaureate Principal Certification from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bridgewater State University.

Prior to serving as Assistant Principal, Nicole was an 8th grade history teacher at West Springfield Middle School for 3 years, and also spent 8 years as an 8th grade history teacher at Roosevelt Middle School in New Bedford. Nicole was nominated by West Springfield Middle School Principal Dr. Peter Gillen who in his nomination wrote, “Mrs. Manning has forged strong relationships with our students’ families, recognizing the importance of involving parents, and guardians, in their children’s education. Her ability to communicate effectively, listen attentively, and collaborate with families has greatly enhanced our school’s community and enriched the educational experiences of our students.” 

Nicole lives in East Longmeadow, MA with her husband Timothy, and two children Fiona (8) and Max (6).
