Thriving in the Principalship

Principaling is hard. Have you lost your passion and why of becoming a school administrator? Are you looking for strategies to make the job easier? Ways to bring more JOY to the job? Ideas to build a positive school culture? Do you want to THRIVE as a school principal? This is the workshop for you! In this workshop we will explore: Managing the mundane (emails, paperwork, observations) of the day to day, creating a culture that brings JOY and empowers your staff to do the work. You will leave this workshop with ideas you can implement immediately!

Participants will:

·         Be invigorated to THRIVE as a principal and not just survive

·         Learn tangible strategies to manage the mundane and organize your days to maximize your time and get into classrooms as an instructional leader

·         Learn practical strategies you can implement right away to contribute to a positive school culture

·         Develop Learning and Performance Zones for improvement

·         Gain a better understanding of the difference between the learning zone and the performance zone

 

You will use this new understanding to develop a plan that will help you create a culture of continual learning and improvement.

Bobbie French | Principal, Memorial School

Bobbie is the Principal at the Memorial School in Winchendon. Her career in education has spanned over 25 years. She has served as an elementary guidance counselor, classroom teacher, student services administrator and principal. Bobbie is proud to be an educational leader, presenter, and blogger. Bobbie is a lifelong learner and believes in the power of being a connected educator. She is passionate about focusing on the whole child and creating an environment where all students have a sense of belonging. She is dedicated to supporting students to develop their social emotional skills while also focusing on their mental health. She approaches school improvement through a trauma informed and equitable lens. Her passion and enthusiasm for creating a positive and engaging school culture is contagious. Bobbie earned her BS in Psychology, MS in Counseling and CAGS in Counseling/Special Education from Fitchburg State University.
