Supporting Students as Scale with an Integrated Approach to SEL
MSAA Professional Development Workshop for School Administrators, Counselors, Teachers, and Department Heads, (Middle/High School) |
Supporting Students as Scale with an Integrated Approach to SEL |
As schools and districts have continued to invest in SEL, leaders have increasingly turned to School Counselors and Support Staff to lead the design and execution of critical programs. While new responsibilities have increased the visibility and importance of these roles, the often-siloed approach has left many counselors needing more buy-in, support, and resources to scale the impact across the entire student body. Join Natick High School as they share their multi-treaded approach to scaling SEL programs across their large high school. Learn about their strategic planning process and the systematic roll-out that built buy-in with key stakeholders, established counselors and support staff as experts, and enabled leaders and educators to take ownership of SEL within their schools and classrooms. Leave with frameworks and resources that can allow you to bring an integrated implementation to your school or district context. |
Participants will: · Understand the role of counselors and student service teams in supporting and scaling SEL initiatives · Identify blockers and points of friction that lead to inefficiency and burnout · Learn implementation strategies that build buy-in with students, staff, and the community and allow for success at scale · Reflect on their current SEL initiative and apply best practices that can move the needle in for your school or district |
