MSAA Professional Development Workshop for All (Administrators and Educators)

From Exhausted to Empowered: Building Resilience and Well-being in the Classroom

In this workshop, we delve into the critical topics of teacher burnout and self-efficacy, equipping you with the tools and knowledge to combat burnout and cultivate well-being. We'll begin by examining the defining characteristics of burnout, enabling you to recognize its early signs in yourself and your colleagues. You'll then explore the concept of self-efficacy, understanding its connection to teacher well-being, and its influence on classroom performance. At the heart of the training lies the development of a personalized self-monitoring program.

Through this program, you'll establish a systematic method for tracking your energy levels, identifying stress triggers, and coping mechanisms, and measuring progress toward improved well-being. We'll provide a range of evidence-based strategies for stress management, mindfulness practice, work-life balance, and building supportive professional networks. This training is designed to be informative and actionable, offering practical tools and resources that you can readily implement in your daily life and professional practice. By the end, you'll have gained a deeper understanding of both burnout and self-efficacy, and you'll be equipped with a personalized self-monitoring program to navigate toward a more fulfilling and sustainable career in education.

Participants will be equipped with tools and strategies to:

·         Identify the signs and symptoms of teacher burnout, both in yourself and your colleagues

·         Understand the role of self-efficacy in preventing and overcoming burnout, and discover ways to strengthen your belief in your own teaching abilities

·         Develop and implement a personalized self-monitoring program to track your energy levels, identify stressors, and implement proactive strategies for self-care and well-being

·         Explore a toolbox of evidence-based practices for reducing stress, enhancing mindfulness, and fostering resilience in the classroom and beyond

·         Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to create a supportive school culture that prioritizes teacher well-being and reduces burnout
