Beyond Evaluation: Using the Danielson Group's Updated Framework for Teaching (FFT) to Develop Great Teachers |
This session is designed to empower school leaders by moving beyond traditional evaluation methods and diving into effective strategies for teacher development through the newly revised Framework for Teaching (ASCD, 2024). This session offers instructional leaders the tools and insights to apply the most widely recognized framework for instructional excellence in a way that drives tangible growth for both teachers and students. Participants will learn how to use the Framework for Teaching to design professional learning conditions that foster growth. |
Workshop Objectives: 1. Identifying Impacts of Initiative Overload Participants will explore how "initiative overload" can negatively impact teachers' agency, confidence, and ability to manage daily stressors. Understanding this will help leaders create a balanced approach to teacher support. 2. Aligning Initiatives with the Framework for Teaching Leaders will have the opportunity to refine and align their current initiatives with the Framework for Teaching, ensuring a clearer, more cohesive approach to instructional excellence. 3. Connecting School Improvement Efforts to Teaching Practice Participants will learn to draw meaningful connections between desired school outcomes and the FFT domains and components, creating a more integrated approach to teacher development that aligns with broader school improvement goals. This session will provide valuable insights for administrators and instructional leaders seeking to deepen their understanding of the Framework for Teaching and apply it to enhance both teacher and student outcomes effectively. |
