Emerald Resort, Doubletree by Hilton Cape Cod – Hyannis, Holiday Inn Cape Cod - Hyannis

This three-day, two-night conference includes workshops, motivational speeches, special events, award presentations and state officer elections. Attendees will participate in a variety of leadership development activities and network with student leaders from across Massachusetts to learn best practices for their student councils. Active student council members in grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend. 

Registration Fees

     Single Room = $450                          Triple Room = $1,185 ($395/person)
Double Room = $810 ($405/person)    Quad Room = $1,520 ($380/person)

  • Fee includes registration, hotel accommodations, meals, materials and more

  • Limit of 12 student delegates per school

  • Gold Council of Excellence schools may register 16 student delegates

  • An adult advisor(s) must accompany each school delegation, remain in attendance and be available throughout the entire conference.

Student-Led Workshop Application – Due February 3, 2026

     Click here to submit a workshop proposal from your school. Each participating school is encouraged to submit one application per school. Advisors must review and approve all proposals prior to submission. 

Please Note:

  • Registration opens on January 6, 2026, at noon

  • Registration closes on February 3, 2026, or when capacity is reached.

  • A school purchase order may be used for initial registration and is due by February 3, 2026.

  • Full payment must be received by February 27, 2026, in the form of a school-issued check.

State Conference Workshop Proposals

Proposals are now being accepted from students interested in presenting a workshop at the MASC Annual Conference in March. Each school participating in the conference is encouraged to submit one workshop proposal. Please note - advisors must review and approve all proposals prior to submission. Click here to submit a workshop proposal.

Awards

Each year, MSAA/MASC awards are presented to students, advisors, administrators, and schools that have made significant contributions to student council activities. Please utilize the links below to access the online nomination forms and additional award details. Nominations must be submitted by schools that have registered the Student Council as an MSAA Student Activity. Nominations are due by Friday, January 16, 2026.

Administrator of the Year Award

This award is presented to one school administrator in recognition of outstanding support for student council activities.

Henry Sullivan Advisor of the Year Award

This award is presented to one student council advisor in recognition of a commitment to excellence and service to young people in their school.

Top Ten Project Awards

These awards are presented to ten student councils who have submitted one of the ten most outstanding projects during the school year.

Unsung Hero Awards

These awards are presented to one student council member from each region of the state who goes above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis with little or no recognition.

James Rokas Awards

These awards recognize individual students for both achievement and potential in their student leadership experiences, and are presented to one student from each region.

Council of Excellence Awards

These awards are designed to recognize and reward the achievements of outstanding student councils and provide standards of effective student leadership.
